Matthew Scott has been a leader in the hospitality industry for the past twenty-five years. Since 1999, Matthew managed Abacus, cultivated the successful wine and beverage program and shortly after, became the Corporate Director of Operations for Abacus and Jasper’s Restaurant Group. Matthew was responsible for Abacus being recognized for “Best New Wine List” by Food & Wine Magazine. Additionally, Matthew was one of eight nationally renowned wine professionals who crafted 2012 Raymond Vineyards Sommelier Selection in Napa Valley, California.
Great Scott was born from a passion for food, wine and the importance of a unique dining experience. The Dallas-Fort Worth area has countless opportunities for diners, but Matthew and Danielle Scott believe that they are bringing a whole new concept to the community that they love in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake.

“Praise the Pig” is our slogan and we use only pasture raised Heritage Breed Pork and prepare our goods in small batches to ensure the highest possible quality. By choosing to use only Certified Humane Raised and Handled meats our goal is to positively impact our community and support farmers who choose to pasture raise their animals without the use of needless hormones and antibiotics.
At Great Scott there is an extended effort to highlight the passion and high standards of farmers and vintners who take a holistic approach to produce their goods. We are not just selling wine, craft beer and cured meats; we are providing our community higher quality products that are better for them, the environment, and small businesses.
